Our Example: Hebrews 10:23

Life often has a way of treating us pretty bad. Last week I saw a magpie being pecked to death by a group of crows.

Immediately after a cat sprang on to it (it couldn’t fly at this point) I watched to make sure it hopped safely up a tree, only to be told later that it will probably die anyway.

For me this was the epitome of the suffering that is currently so rampant in this world. A suffering that we seem to all have made contact with, some more directly then others.

It’s a well-known proverb that all good things must come to an end. However for the faith believe Christian I guess the inverse is also true, that suffering, malice and crime will all one day be cut off too.  If there’s anything worthy to be hoped for; the day when Jesus returns, surely there’s no better anticipation.

Key note:
Jesus has promised to return, and what’s better to hope for?

Prayer:
Lord help me to stay faithful, and in happy hope as I wait for your return.
